How To Clean Hair Extensions In Northern Virginia

By Odessa Edwards

Extensions add thickness and length to hair. An individual can look good after choosing the best type for a day or night. A person should know the type that suits the shape of her face. There are different types of hair extensions in Northern Virginia for various facial shapes.

Most of them are manufactured from human hair. They come in different styles. Some are usually straight or permed and come in different colors. Special care should be given to them. They should not be exposed to excess sunlight. Curls can be achieved by setting them with soft rollers.

Extensions are purchased from beauty stores where one can select the type he or she wants. European is one of the types. It is economical because it lasts for a period of one year when treated well. Another type is Asian. It is mostly preferred by the dark people because it looks good on them. It is also cheap. The other type is called virgin hair extension. It is expensive because chemicals are used to treat it.

One can also pin extensions to make her curls longer, but for a short period. Clips that look like tresses are placed where one wants the thickness or length to be. Weaves are preferred because they last for a long period. They can be bound with glue or heat fusion. One can stay with them for up to three months. This depends with how fast your tresses grow.

Artificial tresses that last for a short period cost from 5 dollars to 500 dollars. They also come in different textures and colors. One can put them on at home instead of going to the salon. This saves on the cost. The quality ones are expensive. One costs up to 2500 dollars. Their maintenance cost is also expensive. This is because one has to visit a saloon many times for maintenance. The visits to the salon can cost one several hundreds to 1000 dollars.

Many women wear weaves to achieve a new look. When they are not in use one must take care of them as he or she would take care of their own tresses. When they are not stored properly, they may tangle. This may shorten their life.

One should clean them by use of shampoo or special cleanser. They should be cleaned properly because most of them build up products, which attract dust easily. After cleaning, they should be given enough time to dry well. They can be dried by laying them on a cloth or hanging them on a cloth line. One should not store them while wet to avoid attracting mold and mildew.

Extensions can be kept in plastic bags or plastic containers. The plastic container should be spacious. There are containers that are specifically designed for storing hair extensions in Northern Virginia. If one cannot afford them, he or she should buy a plastic bag with openings for letting in air so that the hair can be fresh and also avoid bad smell. The bag or containers should be kept away from excess heat. This is to prevent discoloration.
