Adventure Play - Changing A Playground Into More

By Merle Sheppard

Playgrounds are much more than simply a few slides and swings these days. Today's modern manufacturing techniques and different designs mean that playgrounds are literal escapes that children may lose themselves within. Adventure playground equipment brings to mind images of pleasure, fun, and imagination and that's what it really can do. From the simple to the extreme, great adventure style playgrounds come in a lots of different sizes and shapes. The central secret is that they really do intrigue kids and obtain them interested in running, climbing, jumping, and playing. In a world where much less physical activity has taken place that's something really worth appreciating.

Some of the most common kinds of adventure playground equipment are themed. In other words, you may be able to have a dinosaur themed playground or a pirate ship themed one. In these cases, the slides, swings, and playground structures will all be styled to suit into that theme. It can generate incredible imagination in a child and help transport these to a world all their own. It's a great way to stimulate creativity and also to boost imagination. As a result, the extra money spent on these themed options is well worth the cost.

The next phase back from totally themed adventure playground equipment is actually partial theme or partial feature. Something like a large moulded plastic climbing wall that leads up onto a bridge or slide platform is a good example, particularly if it's moulded to look like a real cliff side. Other elements might be a tunnel crawl made to look like a cave system or a covered slide in the shape of a dragon. All of these are possibilities and therefore are really worth considering. Just adding one small element such as this to a playground is usually enough to actually generate interest from the kids and it'll likely are less expensive than you believe.

Some also classify adventure playground equipment as any kind of large scale design. It does not have to fit a certain them, exactly, but simply be large and complex enough to allow a child's mind conjure up the fantasy they want to play in. A large number of ramps, tunnels, monkey bars, swings, climbing walls, slides, bridges, and more that all interconnect into a large unique play structure can be a good example. Think of the basic playground structure systems most are familiar with and then triple or quadruple them in dimensions. These can be affordable but still provide hours of fun for kids.

The truth is generally adventure playground equipment may cost a bit more than a standard run of the mill playground would. But the enjoyment that the kids get from it combined with the physical and mental stimulation, are really well worth the extra cost. If you are looking for a fantastic way to change your existing playground or even are about to install a brand new one then you should give serious thought towards one of these great choices. You'll be amazed at what modern playground equipment could be and what it can do for a playground.
