How To Make Matcha An Exotic Herbal Tea

Many people are not aware of the fact that matcha is a type of green tea specifically available in Asian countries especially Japan. The reason why it is referred as Japanese tea is because the major exporter and producer of this green tea is none other than Japan. If you consume it regularly you will be benefited with it in a healthy way. Its not difficult to learn how to make matcha tea but the process can differ from making other type of teas.

Unlike other green teas, it is a powdered tea which means you will be consuming whole tea leaf instead of just drinking the water extract of the leaf. You have the option to keep its consistency either thin or thick according to your personal preference and liking. The thick tea is known as Usucha and tea with thin consistency is called Koicha.

To avoid an awful tasting tea you should follow the brewing process in an accurate manner. There are certain steps that you need to follow to brew a perfect cup of matcha. Never use boiling hot water to brew it instead use warm hot water.

Firstly, boil water in a pan to extreme boiling temperature and then take it off the fire and wait for about two or three minutes then start the brewing process. You may need some hot water separately in another pan if you want to change the consistency of it.Once the water is boiled, pour it into a separate bowl. Don't let it cool down for long otherwise you will find it difficult to brew it in a perfect manner.

Depending on the desired consistency, add the tea powder in your cup. You can add 1/2 to 2 spoons of powder in a single cup. To obtain thick texture you should add 2 spoons otherwise 1/2 spoon is enough for a thin textured drink. For smoother texture, always use a tea strainer so that no granules are left within your cup.

When the drink is still very hot, you must whisk it for a while in order to make it smooth textured. The recommended method is to add a little amount of hot water in your cup and then add the powder and whisk it until its smoothly mixed. Now you could add more water in it while stirring continuously so that the consistency that you desire can be achieved.

If you want to make it thick then whisk till a layer of froth is created on top whereas to obtain thin texture gently whisk in circular motion and get a smooth and light blend of tea. The best way is to drink it immediately otherwise the taste will not remain the same.

It might be said that the procedure of how to make matcha is very straightforward. You can store the tea powder for quite a while if you keep it in a sealed jar inside a refrigerator. A number of health benefits are discovered in this tea are acknowledged to a great degree so make it your routine to drink no less than one mug daily.
