Organic Olive Oil & Its Benefits On Salad

By Katie Onson

When it comes to the most common salad dressings, I am sure that there are many names that will spring out. Everything from Thousand Island to Italian may come to mind but it's apparent that many health gurus steer clear of such items. This poses the question: is there a different alternative that can be used in order to grant salad a greater slew of benefits? This is where organic olive oil can come into play and the benefits, to put it simply, are stunning.

The Telegraph put up a report that talked about the various health benefits that organic olive oil can have when placed on salad. Various authorities on the matter, Bellucci Premium included, can tell you about how heart health can be made better because of the oil in question. It is also worth noting that this type of oil has good fats which can help to reduce the amount of bad cholesterol in the body. One of the little-known benefits of this oil, though, has to do with air pollution.

According to the article, taking in about two thirds of a teaspoon of organic olive oil can reduce the impact, to the heart, made by air pollution. Keep in mind that air pollution is an instance that can harm just about anyone, humans, animals, and plants included. Short-term effected tied to air pollution include - but are not limited to - irritation to the eyes and coughing fits. More extensive lengths of exposure, though, could lead to more serious conditions, lung cancer included.

Which sources of air pollution are the most troublesome, you may wonder? Let's say that you are looking to work on your car; the running motor you may be exposed to can cause air pollution on a smaller scale. The burning of fossil fuels can create this as well, so it's important to note the most common locations of this, factories and office buildings included. You can reduce the impact that this can have on you; it's just a matter of how much you're willing to change your diet.

Hopefully these points will be able to help you better understand why it's important to take in organic olive oil. It can be argued that the oil itself can be taken into the body on its own without any other foods. However, from what I have seen, many people prefer this type of oil when it is utilized as more of an accent than a standalone food product. Whatever the case may be, the various benefits of this products are tough to overlook.
