Talking About Cough Remedies & The Work Of Demetrios Gabriel

By Paula Hess

To say that a case of a cough can be a bother would be nothing short of an understatement. Demetrios Gabriel would be able to agree, especially when it can disrupt anything from your daily tasks to your typically normal sleep schedule. What this means is that you have to be able to soothe the cough that you have but what can help in this regard? What are some of the remedies that Gabriel - as well as other medical authorities - can offer on this front?

1. Warm liquids can prove to be some of the best remedies. Demetrios Gabriel will be able to agree with such a point, as hot tea - to name one example - can not only soothe the throat due to its temperature but aid the body as far as minerals and vitamins are concerned. Soup is great for the purpose of soothing the throat as well, so do not overlook its impact either. Warm liquids, as companies such as Gabriel Pediatrics can tell you, can work well as far as anti-inflammatory benefits are concerned.

2. Honey will be able to serve those suffering from a cough as well. One of the reasons why I hold honey in high regard is because of the wealth of antioxidants it possesses, which serve to help the body as it works to lower the risk of various diseases. It can also help the throat from an anti-inflammatory standpoint, which is vital when considering how much of a pain the cough can be. Demetrios Gabriel will agree that honey should be taken in, whether it's through tea or on its own.

3. Lozenges are great for the throat but make sure that you choose the ones that have zinc. For those who do not know, the component known as zinc is found in cells throughout the body, able to protect the immune system and give it the boost it needs in order to keep the body healthy. While zinc is required for growth, there have been certain studies that displayed some positive results as far as shortening the length of a cough is concerned. Do not overlook this nutrient when picking up drops for your throat.

It's clear that a number of remedies exist for the purpose of helping one's cough, some of them perhaps more typical than others. The ones listed above are great for this purpose but it goes without saying that there are other items worth using. My argument, though, is that these are some of the safer options, as well as ones which are easier to come by. If you are willing to experiment with other items, though, you may find that their benefits will stand out in the long run.
